Water/Sewer Rate Increase
In April, residents with water services will see an increase on their water bill for both the residential water/sewer rates and consumption rates.
This 7.5% increase was approved by Council on February 17, 2026 as part of a phased approach to address ongoing operating deficits and strengthen long-term sustainability.
2025 Rates:
Base Water/Sewer Rate: $62.40/month
Consumption Rate: $2.69/m3
2026 Rates:
Base Water/Sewer Rate: $67.08/month
Consumption Rate: $2.89/m3
Why do water rates go up?
- Water/Sewer service is provided on a cost-of-service basis
- This means the fund needed to operate should pay for residents’ direct needs for water. Water costs charged to residents represent the services used.
- There is no profit to the municipality as funding is based solely on providing high quality water service and protecting the health of all water customers.
